A dear friend of mine commissioned me to paint this portrait of her grandson on his birthday. She really loved that its her husbands hand reaching down to steady him as he made his way through the bluebonnets. I really enjoyed doing this one, it combined portraiture and landscape. as well as just being able to do something for a friend. I haven't done any landscapes in a while, so it felt good to do this one, but I'm afraid my color on my camera was a little off when I took this photo, The green is way too bright, but I didn't really check it after I took the photo. The painting is framed and hanging so this is what I have. So, see this as a precautionary tale, make sure your lighting and camera are set correctly, and always check the quality of the photo after you take it. I'm not very good at adjusting photos after the painting is gone.
